Four Finns scored in the NHL round.
Carolina Hurricanes Sebastian Aho had a great night at the hockey NHL round. Aho scored 1+3 when Carolina beat Dallas Stars 6–4 at home.
It was Aho’s tenth four-point game in his career. The match was also Aho’s 147th game with at least two power points in his career. He got up Esa Tikkanen (146) past ninth on the list of all-time Finnish NHL players.
Aho, chosen as the best player of the match, scored a 3–2 lead at the beginning of the second period. Aho got a button pass in front of the goal From Seth Jarvis and moved the puck directly from the pass between the legs of the Dallas keeper and into the goal.
The goal was Aho’s seventh of the season. The Finnish star now has 23 (7+16) points from 21 matches.
Dallas’ star defender also managed to score in the match Miro Heiskanenwho shot a precise wrist shot from the outside arc of the b-point in the third period of the 4-4 tie. The goal was Heiskanen’s fourth of the season.

Opening goal of the season for Niko Mikkola
Florida Panthers quarterback Niko Mikkola scored his season opener in a losing home game against the Washington Capitals. Joining the attack, Mikkola accurately shot his team’s only goal in a 1–4 loss.
Haula passed Saros
New Jersey Devils Erik Haula was selected as the second star of the match in the home game against the Nashville Predators. Haula scored one goal in the match, as the Devils won 5–2.
Haula tied the game at 1–1 by directing the puck in from in front of the goal directly from the pass. Nashville saved with a goal Juuse Saros nothing could be done about the situation. Saros recorded 26/30 saves from the fight.
Ville Heinola returned to real action
23-year-old Jets tackle Ville Heinola returned to the NHL arena after a long break, when the Winnipeg Jets claimed a 4-1 away victory over the Minnesota Wild. Heinola recorded 12.14 minutes of ice time.
Heinola last played in an NHL game in January 2023.
– The journey has definitely been long for me. Ever since the injury last training camp, I’ve had to fight to get my ankle feeling good. Now, however, it feels great, and I’m extremely excited to be able to play again, Heinola said before the game.
