Today, November 30, 2023, the Season of Discovery for WoW Classic starts. This completely changes how you can play the MMORPG. MeinMMO reveals what time it starts and how you get involved.
The servers go live on Thursday, November 30th at 10:00 p.m. German time. There is no end date yet.
Yes, the servers are scheduled to be shut down for maintenance from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
When you start WoW Classic, you will find the season servers under the “Seasonal” tab at the bottom of the server selection.
You will receive the update automatically if you have already installed WoW Classic Era. Otherwise you still have to install the game. All you need is an ongoing WoW subscription.

Level up to 25, sorcerer as a tank, magician as a healer
The big new feature in the Season of Discovery is that the roles of many classes are being redistributed. By using 12 runes per class, your abilities change and you suddenly play your class completely differently:
For the sorcerer, this works by making the demon form permanent and granting +500% armor. So you tank constantly as a demon, similar to what was possible for a short time in Wrath of the Lich King.
The Season of Discovery is divided into different phases. In the first phase the maximum level is 25 and you get the Deep Black Grotto as a new raid for 10 players. There will also be zone events in Ashenvale.
The subsequent phases then go up to level 40, 50 and finally 60. Further runes should also be added there. Gnomeregan has already been confirmed as the next raid for level 40.
Blizzard has not yet revealed when these phases will appear. There are currently around 1-2 months per phase.
