After four seasons, the hit series The Rookie was expanded to include an important spin-off. The Rookie: Feds wasn’t just a spin-off that ran independently of the main series. The episodes of the current 5th season of The Rookie alternated again and again with events from Feds. This will no longer be the case in the confirmed 6th season of the main series. The spin-off is not continuing.
The Rookie spin-off was canceled by the network
According to Deadline, the rookie spin-off was not renewed for a second season by ABC. Even though the ratings couldn’t keep up with the parent series, the numbers recently showed a positive trend. The spin-off was special in season 1 with The Rookie connected through crossover events. There were the following combinations:
When does The Rookie season 6 start?
The 6th season of the parent series was announced in April 2023. A start date is not yet known. In Germany, the first 4 seasons of The Rookie are available to stream on Netflix. You can watch season 5 and the 1st season of the spin-off The Rookie: Feds with a streaming subscription to Sky’s WOW * look.
