Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 Season 5 starts today. The update brings us new content and some changes in the game. All information about the patch notes can be found here on MeinMMO.

The new season starts today and has some innovations ready. We have summarized everything important for you in an overview of Season 5.

Warzone players can expect, among other things:

  • a new assault rifle

    The patch notes for the brand new Season 5 are also online. We have summarized some highlights for you.

    When is the update coming? The new season started on August 2nd at 6 p.m. German time.

    How big is the update? On PS5, the download is around 12GB.

    What’s in the update? Here are a few highlights from the patch notes. In the spoiler boxes you will find the full English patch notes from the developers:

  • Tactical pets as companions

    • Tactical Pets and Battle Buddy

    Season 5 will bring new tactical pets to use in Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer, Battle Royale and DMZ modes.

    The animal companions cannot take damage, but have a finishing move.

    New Tactical Pets Companion Feature

  • New to Modern Warfare II, Operators will have the option to bring companions alongside them in Multiplayer, Battle Royale, and DMZ modes. This provides the unparalleled benefit of companionship along with a devastating finishing move.
  • Merlin — and other Tactical Pets— cannot be harmed in any way and play a role in Finishing Moves. . . . Just remember to equip the Finishing Move separate from the companion when editing your chosen Operator.

    • The Battle Buddy is a kind of announcer who comments on your actions on the battlefield. The announcer calls out killstreaks, kills, and other personal in-game events, and emphasizes when you win a game or do well.

  • Another new addition to Modern Warfare II is a Battle Buddy – virtual “assistants” who act as a mini-announcer with some additional personality.
  • “Gwen” is the first, as her Gun Screen – what she prefers as opposed to “Battle Buddy” – is packaged with Arthur and his K9 unit Merlin. Just perform well with her equipped, because she has no time to assist with anything but a successful mission.
  • She will callout Killstreak activations, kills – including with specific weapons or equipment – ​​and other in-game personal events, especially when you win or perform well in a match.

    • With the start of Season 5 there will be two new weapons, the FR Avancer (assault rifle) and the Carrack .300 (sniper rifle). Both new rifles can be unlocked through the Battle Pass.

    • Season 5 introduces the so-called “Eco Mode”.

  • Found in the Graphics Settings menu, with three options:
  • Off: Same behavior as all previous updates with no power savings.
  • Minimal (Default): Frame rate capped at 60hz and slight drop in 3D scene resolution for the Multiplayer and Warzone lobbies only. Yields an average power savings of 20%.
  • Full: Frame rate capped at 30hz and larger drop in 3D scene resolution for the Multiplayer and Warzone lobbies only. Yields an average power savings of 50%.
