The long-awaited Season 4 has finally arrived in Diablo 4. After a few minor problems, players can now log in and play. MeinMMO gives you a little help getting started if you don’t really know how to start.
This is new with Season 4: The latest season completely transforms Diablo 4. Some even say it is now a completely different, new game. At least that’s true in the most important point: the loot has been completely revised.
From now on you will no longer find an overwhelming number of affixes and you can compare items more easily. There is a new crafting system with which you can improve your items in the end game. You can find the core information summarized here:
In the end game you will find “The Pit”, a new dungeon with 200 levels in which you have to chop up monsters against time. Andariel is added as a new Pinnacle boss and all bosses now have “Tortured” variants at level 200 for even more loot. Summoning Mats are now more common.
The actual season theme is the iron wolves, who are on the move in the (also revised) floods of hell. However, almost all changes are playable in both the eternal and seasonal realms.
The only exception is the short season quest series with the “Call of the Wolf” task, which gives you some rewards as well as an elixir that increases the level and loot of enemies in Hellfloods.
If you’re starting Season 4 now, we’ll give you some tips for the ideal start.
1. Choose the right class for you
In principle, it doesn’t matter which class you choose, as long as you enjoy it. All classes are quite close to each other in Season 4, you will only feel real differences if you want to compete in the highest levels of the pit or climb the leaderboard.
If you are looking for the ideal class to start with, there is a very clear choice this time: The necromancer is currently the best class in Season 4, whether for leveling or in the endgame.
Almost all of the Necromancer builds are in the top tiers and some of them even play like themselves. But the other classes are not that far behind. If you still want to take a look around, you can find the tier list with the best builds in Season 4 here.
However, it is now a little easier to choose your defensive values:

2. Make Hellfloods – This is the best content for just about anything
Hellfloods, along with loot, are the feature that received the biggest overhauls. Basically, from level 1 onwards, they are your best method for farming and leveling.
In Hell’s Floods you not only get tons of loot, but also materials and can complete events for additional XP, gold and donations. However, there have been a few changes to Infernal Tide:
The Hell Floods are your best tool for leveling up quickly. The mob density is also significantly increased. You can find more tips here:

3. Hoard materials, gold and currencies for as long as possible
Season 4 will be expensive in several respects. Not only will you need a lot of gold, but you will also have to farm tons of materials. You should play however you want, but especially if you have little time, the following applies: use your resources wisely.
You get crafting materials for hardening and completion from the pit, depending on the level. However, you will need a lot of them to fully upgrade an item, which is why you should only do this for items that you have already found strong – otherwise you will be constantly swapping.
You also need a lot of gold for crafting. Unlike on the PTR, the attempts can no longer fail. The upgrade from 11 to 12 alone costs an impressive 10 million gold. So hoard properly.
The most important thing when leveling up, however, is that you take the Whispering Oboluses with you. Because the “Gambler” also received an update. At level 100 you are guaranteed to get 925 items and these can not only be legendary, but even have big affixes. In addition, the limit for donations was increased. It makes sense to stash the things: A dealer becomes much more important in Diablo 4 Season 4 – you should hoard his currency while leveling up
