Season 31 starts today in Diablo 3 and there is a well-known season theme, rewards and the patch notes. We’ll show you all the details in an overview.

When does Season 31 start? Season 31 in Diablo 3 starts on April 12, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. German time. The season theme is called “Forbidden Archives” and expands the categories of Kanai’s dice.

The season theme “Forbidden Archives” appeared for the first time in Season 20. We will show you how the theme works and what to expect in our overview.

Season 31 at a glance

This is the season theme: In the “Season of the Forbidden Archives,” you dedicate yourself to the power that the celebrated and loathed Horadrim Zoltun Kull could place in your hands if his experiments were not stopped.

During Season 31, the slots in Kanai’s Cube that allow you to use three additional Legendary Traits are not limited to their usual categories. You can usually equip one trait from each of the weapon, armor and jewelry categories.

But in Season 31 it’s possible to combine all three and experiment with them. So you could combine two weapon properties with one armor property.

Cosmetic Rewards: In Season 31, rewards that you could originally receive in Season 7 return. Additionally, those who complete the entire seasonal journey will receive two cosmetic rewards – the Valor portrait frame and the Celestial Goblin companion.

In Season 31 you will receive transmog and pet rewards.

At the end of the seasonal journey you will receive a portrait frame and a companion.

Starter sets: As you know from the seasons in Diablo 3, you earn Haedrig’s gifts by completing chapters 2, 3 and 4. If you open them all with the same character, you will receive a complete set. Which set you can earn with the classes changes every season.

    Below we list the patch notes, which are quite short this time, in contrast to the patch notes for the previous Season 30.

  • KR age restriction
  • Updated logos for age restriction in KR from 18 years to 19 years.
  • Additional Progression Orbs dropped from the Soul Shard Mark of Sin now works for Challenge Portals.
  • Additional progress orbs dropped from the Soul Shard Mark of Sin and Altar of Rites Reaper Node can now only be dropped from monsters in Nephalem Rifts, Greater Rifts, and Challenge Rifts.

    • This is the second season in which Blizzard rehashes the content from previous seasons. There will be no more new topics: Blizzard confirmed that the last new content for Diablo 3 will come with Season 29 and shows what will happen afterwards.
