Season 1 Start – Everything you need to know

So far, Diablo 4 can be played in Early Access, but only the base game. Season 1 hasn’t started yet and many are wondering where it is. We show you everything to start with and what you can expect.

When does Season 1 start? Diablo 4 has not yet set an exact start date for Season 1. Despite this, the developers talked about Seasons and the Battle Pass in an older Blizzard stream. It was also about the start of Season 1.

This is scheduled to be installed by mid to late July 2023.

Why is Season 1 starting so late? Diablo 4 has two release dates:

  • Early access for those who pre-order the digital deluxe and ultimate editions
  • The normal release for Standard Edition buyers
  • The players in early access would have a 4-day head start over the players who did not dig deep into their wallets. Blizzard wants everyone to get into the ladder with the same opportunities.

What content will there be? In addition to a Battle Pass, Seasons will also bring new quests, a theme, and new monsters and items.

Players can then start over with a seasonal hero, loot and level up to try new builds. There will also be a ladder where players compete for their position in the leaderboard.

Blizzard is taking a new direction, because while Diablo 3 only worked with its seasons, there will also be battle passes in Diablo 4, which will probably not contain Pay2Win.

You only get a cosmetic benefit as these Battle Passes will mostly have skins for your heroes, weapons and mounts.

How long does a season last? A season in Diablo 4 will last up to 3 months.
