Searched for love in TV4’s program – gets engaged in Love is blind

Oskar Nordstrand is one of the participants in the new “Love is blind Sweden” on Netflix. In the first four episodes released on the streaming service, we’ve seen him propose to Meira Omar, who says yes, and the couple spend their honeymoon in Cyprus with the rest of the couples.

But it is not the first time that we get to see Oskar on television. Nine years ago he participated in TV4’s “Robinson – Love edition”, the Robinson edition where the requirement to participate was that you had to be single and you competed – and won – as a couple. Oskar was 23 at the time.

He had dreamed of appearing in “Robinson” since he was a child. That dream came true, but he was left without love.

– They hadn’t really gone out with what it meant more than that you would be single between 20-40 years old. I certainly hoped to meet someone, but at the same time it felt unlikely given the circumstances. Most attracted the adventure, and you have other needs that come before meeting a partner in Robinson, says Oskar.

“Many advantages of having done television before”

Jumping onto yet another love program was not an option for Oskar at first. When he was asked to participate in “Love is blind Sweden”, he initially refused. It took some persuasion.

– Slowly but surely I became more and more convinced. I’ve dated quite a bit, been on the apps and tried almost everything. I was tired of being single and felt that I was willing to give it a chance, says Oskar.

A week and a half before filming began, he finally agreed.

– There were many advantages to having made television before, those elements were familiar. Everything that had to do with television production. However, I am surprised by the whole experience, that it was as strong as it was. I have watched the program before and felt “wow” at how strong emotions arise, but thought that maybe it is because they are Americans, that they are more ready for such a commitment, he says.

– I myself was not ready that you could build such bonds without seeing each other. I was completely blown away.

This is how Oskar reacted when he saw the program

When he now watches the program himself, he reacts, like the viewers, to whether love can really happen so quickly. Even though he knows that what you see is not the whole picture. Much has been cut out.

– It’s great fun to see the other participants and follow their story, but at the same time I can look at it and think myself “how can people really fall in love?” It goes so fast”. But that wasn’t quite how it happened. You don’t really understand how much time we spent together before we got down on one knee, says Oskar.

– You only get to see small glimpses. But I understand that it is difficult to include everything, some parts are correct and some parts are not, he continues.
