Bradley James Ogilvie, 41, was first reported missing by his family last November. Police renewed a plea for tips in his disappearance in December.
But the type of probe has changed as of Friday, police said.
“As a result of this investigation, his disappearance has now been determined to be a homicide,” police said in a statement.
Police arrested several people in various locations around Sarnia on Friday, but they didn’t release any names or say how many suspects there are. They also didn’t say how Ogilvie died or where or if his body was discovered.
“This investigation is still active and expected to continue over the weekend,” police said. “Investigators believe there are others who have information relevant to this investigation and are encouraging them to come forward.”
