A large search operation in Gothenburg’s archipelago was called off shortly after 01:00 without anyone being found, local media reports.

The alarm about a stray boat came in at 9pm on Friday. The Swedish Maritime Administration, the Coast Guard, the Sea Rescue Society and the Swedish Armed Forces searched the water between Fiskebäck and Asperö.

– Unfortunately, we have not found any person. We finished because the area was quite limited and well searched, we had 15 units involved for five hours from our side, says the Maritime and Air Rescue Center’s Pontus Svensson to Göteborgs-Posten.
