A grid search was being conducted for “items of evidentiary value” in the suspicious disappearance of Tyler Chaput33, police said.

Chaput is described as approximately 5’6” and 160 lbs, with a thin build, brown hair and blue eyes. Chaput has a scar on his right cheek and tattoos on his upper chest of Scorpio and Leo signs.

Disturbance at Canatara Beach

A naked man who police say threatened and assaulted a group of people at Canatara Beach is facing charges.

The accused male was lying on the beach July 30, around 7:30 pm, when he observed a group of people and allegedly began to yell racial slurs and tell them “to go back to their country,” police said.

The accused became physically aggressive, tried to grab a member of the group who ran away from him, and shoved and threatened to punch group members when he realized he was being recorded, police said.

When police arrived, the accused continued belligerence, to the victims and police, police said, noting the accused was non-compliant with police – refusing to follow instructions and attempting to spit at officers.

Christopher Boland Schitschenko, 49, of Sarnia, is charged with assault, causing a disturbance, mischief, and uttering threats.

The accused has been released and is scheduled in Sarnia court Sept. 8, police said.
