Korihait, who finished last in the Men’s Korisliiga with a clean game, experienced a bitter home defeat at the hands of their nearest challenger, the Helsinki Seagulls, and succumbed in Uudenkaupunki’s night 58–97. At the same time, the top spot in the Korisliiga was also transferred from the home team to the visitors.
The Seagulls’ energy bombs were seen playing their first season in Finland on the floor Tevin Olison and known as the club’s captain and Korisliiga veteran Rene Rougeau. Olison had 31 points in the game, while Rougeau poured in 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and made a ton of saves.
The domestic backfield general distributed the ball to both of them most diligently Lassi Nikkarinenwho recorded as many as 11 assists and nine rebounds, even though the score remained at five.
On the basket sharks’ side, a guiding star Mikael Aalto instead suffered through a coughing game all night. Laituri tried to wake up his team from a losing position with, among other things, a furious donk, but the hit percentages from the shots in game situations remained weak: only ten points with a total accuracy of 28 percent. He collected eight rebounds. The team’s best score was by Kaleb Warner 11.
