(Finance) – “For me it is a great honor to participate in the work of this meeting, because AssonauticaItaliana, which I have the honor of representing, the National Association for the development of the Sea Economy of Unioncamere, with the National Technological Cluster on the Sea Economy BIG today interconnect even more to work on new trajectories for the Blue Economy by accelerating the development process between research and businesses. The presence of representatives of civil and military institutions, associations and businesses, whom I greet and thank everyone, further qualifies this great opportunity for discussion”. – Thus the President of the Frosinone Latina Chamber of Commerce, Assonautica Italiana and SiCamera, John Acamporaopened today’s morning, March 19, 2024, the works of “The Sea in action – The new Blue trajectories”. The meeting, organized by the Blue Italian Growth National Technological Cluster, in collaboration with Assonautica Italiana, was held in Rome, in the Hall of the Temple of Vibia Sabina and Adriano, of the Rome Chamber of Commerce.
A comparison of the new ones Trajectories Blue to share a Action Plan aimed at the technological, research and industrial growth of the Sea Economy. During the debate, which saw the participation of the main institutional, associative and industrial stakeholders of the Sea Economy, the main lines of action of the Clusters serving the Italian Blue Economy: technological transfer, innovation, training, internationalisation.
“As a chamber system, for years, theSea Economy is at the center of our strategies, with an action that ranges from the analysis to the implementation of programs which, thanks to the direction of Assonautica Nazionale, find the synthesis in a unitary vision, transversal with respect to the different supply chains and strongly oriented towards the synergies of the territories . – Acampora continued -With ours National Observatory on the Economy of the Sea “Ossermare”together with Tagliacarne, the Study Center of the Chambers of Commerce, we study and monitor the value that our Nation produces and create the National Report on the Economy of the Sea which provides a precise cognitive framework of our Economy of the Sea which, I want to underline , is the third in Europe.
In Italy the Sea Economy is valid 52 billion euros as far as the direct component is concerned and it almost counts 914 thousand employees who work in addition 228 thousand businesses. A set of supply chains that is capable of generating further development because it has a multiplier effect: every euro produced by the Blue Economy has activated 1.7 in the rest of the economy for an overall added value of almost 143 billion euros (the 8.9% of the added value produced by the entire national economy). These are the numbers of the XI Report, but we are already working on the next edition which we will present shortly”.
“The Maritime Economy in Italy is increasingly becoming recognisable, thanks also to the work of the Government which was the first to establish a Minister for Maritime Policies. For this reason, allow me to greet and give special thanks to the Minister Nello Musumeci, with whom we worked together for the definition of the first Three-Year Plan for the sea, licensed by CIPOM. The prospects outlined in the Sea Plan – added Acampora – require us to look at the objectives of the green deal with a non-ideological approach but open to technological neutrality, to face the important challenge for the decarbonisation of the naval and nautical sector, which represents a essential supply chain for the Italian and global economy. Among the main development drivers of the maritime economy, the routes are those of innovation, digitalisation and the new technological frontiers of artificial intelligence. Our country expresses skills of the highest level and the Big Cluster is a model on the national scene, with great aggregative strength, thanks to the exceptional partnerships that it has been able to establish. We must work together to bring research closer to the business world and to accelerate the transformative process that requires important investments, both public and private, to intercept the trends of sustainability and new digital technologies. The opportunity of affirmation of our Nation are enormous: an example is the underwater dimension, which is increasingly strategic and in which Italy with its skills can make a difference in the world scenario. The interconnections between Space and Sea are having an enormous development , which also requires great attention to safety issues. With Assonautica Italiana, SiCamera and our Azienda Speciale Informare we are carrying out system actions that start from the requests of the entire business world that operates within the scope of the Blue Economy, with constant pressure at the main institutional tables”.
Then Acampora turned on the spotlight on the next edition of Gaeta Summit: “The Sea Economy can play a leading role in the transition process, because the protection of the marine environment and the conservation of ecosystems are indispensable factors. For this reason, as a chamber system, we created and promoted the Blue Forum Italia Network, with the aim of accompanying the transition from Blue Growth to a sustainable Sea Economy. I am convinced that the institutions have the task of knowing how to seize the opportunities, to converge the available economic resources and to attract new resources, as we are already doing together with Minister Musumeci and Minister Urso for the connection to the budget law dedicated to Blue Economy. The next appointment with the 3rd National Summit on the Economy of the Sea – Blue Forum entitled “Let’s invest in the Economy of the Sea” – scheduled from 10 to 13 April coming to Gaeta – it will be an important opportunity for discussion that will involve all the stakeholders of the sea, together with national and European politics and for this I thank Minister Musumeci with whom we will celebrate the National Sea Day in Gaeta”.
