SDP’s party leader, also Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin is considered by the party to have done her job well, but they do not want to see any more scandals, writes the newspaper.
Finland holds elections for the Riksdag in April.
— The closer we get to the election, the more I am convinced that this is not a winning strategy, says Joona Räsänen, chairman of SDP in Nyland, referring to the recently leaked images and recordings on social media.
Niina Alho, chairman of the Southwest Finland district, believes that Marin understood how people think about the recent turbulence.
“In general, people want to talk about how households can afford to pay their electricity bills this winter,” she says.
SDP’s party leadership, parliamentary group and ministers have during their summer meeting in Lahti this week addressed the situation with Marin behind closed doors. According to Matias Mäkynen, deputy party leader, Marin was met with strong support but attention was also drawn to things that “”the prime minister should learn from”.
