SD threatens with government crisis: “Are tough in the negotiations”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The reduction obligation – how much biofuel must be mixed in petrol and diesel – continues to be an infected issue within the Tidö parties. SD’s economic policy spokesperson Oscar Sjöstedt tells TV4 today that there will be a government crisis if they do not come to an agreement. In order to bring down the price of petrol and diesel, the government promised last autumn to lower the reduction obligation. It should be at the EU’s minimum level, they said, but the Tidö parties have interpreted the level completely differently. – What is quite clear in the Tidö agreement is that the reduction obligation must be lowered to the EU’s minimum level and the objective fact is that there is no such level, says Oscar Sjöstedt (SD) and continues: – Our interpretation is therefore that that level is zero percent. Zero, six or twelve? The Sweden Democrats want you to not have to mix biofuels in fuel at all. – We are tough in the negotiations due to the fact that we are the largest party in this document, says Sjöstedt. The Moderates and the Christian Democrats have signaled that they want to see the share of biofuel at around 6 percent, while the Liberals’ Environment Minister Romina Pourmokhtari has talked about 12-16 percent. – We have signed on to be able to lower the reduction obligation temporarily, and it is clear that we will do that, but zero is not an option for us, says Liberal party leader Johan Pehrson to TV4 Nyheterna. Today, you have to mix in 30.5 percent biofuel for diesel, and 7.8 percent for gasoline. “Otherwise we have a government crisis” The idea is that the parties should now agree on a level and then put forward a bill, but it is unclear when such a one might come. The Tidö parties want the new level to apply from 1 January next year. – There will be a change that is quite marked and substantial by the turn of the year. We can be 99.9 percent sure of that, otherwise we have a government crisis, says Oscar Sjöstedt (SD). See Oscar Sjöstedt’s performance in the clip above.
