The Sweden Democrats want to symbolically rename the Correctional Service to the “Penal Agency”. According to party leader Jimmie Åkesson, the authority’s main task is not to care but to punish.
– It should be to lock up, to punish and to keep criminals away from honest, law-abiding people, he said in his summer speech in Sölvesborg.
The focus was on criminal policy, which he thinks is characterized by a juice and buns attitude. – Stop petting, he said.
In the wide-ranging speech, Åkesson also addressed, among other things, energy policy, fuel prices and the welfare system.
