SD: Ban seat belts for children

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

SD is strongly critical of wearing seat belts for children and has put forward a motion that it should be banned.

– It is an extremely invasive measure and which is usually a traumatic experience, says SD’s social policy spokesperson Linda Lindberg to SVT.

Sweden’s belting of children has been criticized by, among others, the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, which wants a ban, similar to Save the Children and the Children’s Ombudsman.

Minister of Social Affairs Jakob Forssmed (KD) points out that coercive measures such as wearing seat belts are only used as a last resort.
