The author of the Portal series, one of the best examples of its kind, stated that he is now ready for Portal 3 and asked the support of the fans.
Portal and Portal 2 are generally considered among the best games of all time, and this success can be attributed to its author. Author Erik Wolpaw has worked on games like Artifact and Half-Life: Alyx in the past, but what he really wants to work on is to return to the Portal 3 Series and fulfill this wish before he gets too old.
Erik Wolpaw wants Portal 3 built
Wolpaw said in a statement, “We have to make Portal 3. Let’s do everything we can do now. I’m getting old and I can’t get younger. Time is ticking and I will be very old when I write Portal 3. That’s why we have to do it as soon as possible,” he said.
Wolpaw said Portal fans should report their calls and requests to Gabe Newell. However, he is also aware that these requests will not help the game to come out. However, if Newell and Valve need it, only such a game can come out, but it won’t hurt if the fans send their wishes.
It’s been 10 years since the release of Portal 2, and for this reason, Wolpaw thinks the series will not continue. It’s not unheard of to have this much time between sequels. In fact, there are games left on the dusty shelves and coming back to the market more than 10 years later. Sometimes such breaks can help the team rest and come up with new ideas. Wolpaw doesn’t share anything about the Portal 3 scenario. It seems better to keep the searyo idea to himself, in case the series gets another chance to continue its life.
