A graffiti artist in Laholm must pay SEK 215,000 in damages after extensive graffiti in the city, reports Laholms Tidning.

The 25-year-old man was exposed after he attempted to rob a 15-year-old boy armed with an ax in the summer of 2022. When the graffiti artist was arrested by police, a man had a bag containing spray paint, a drawing and a book that could link him to the tag (signature ) which has been scrawled on several properties.

The graffiti artist was sentenced last autumn to prison for one year and eight months. During the prison term, the prosecutor drew up an indictment with 48 charges against the doodler regarding vandalism.

The 25-year-old has admitted to about a dozen of the tags, but says friends of his did the others. The Halmstad district court dismisses this as an afterthought and sentences him to probation and to pay more than SEK 215,000 in damages to several property owners.
