Yesterday’s qualifying match between Kankaanpää’s Maila and Puijon Pesis in Kuopio has caused a lot of trouble.
Kuopio’s game director blamed at the post-match press conference Kankaanpää’s Maila’s second-leg manager for personal insults towards a player from Kuopio. According to the claim, KaMa’s second game director would have designated the children of the player from Kuopio as disabled.
KaMa’s second game leader Turo Lauttamus says that the statement is not true.
– In a certain situation, there has been provocative behavior on both sides. In that context, I pointed out to one of Puijo’s players about his disrespectful and provocative behavior.
Lauttamus says that he told the player that he cannot behave in that way.
– I told him that he also has children, you can’t behave like that at home either. Such an agreement has been reached on this matter, says Lauttamus.
Lauttamus says that he used the word child in the situation, but that he has not commented in any way on matters belonging to the player’s family, let alone crossed the line of good taste. He flatly denies that he said anything about disability.
Maila from Kankaanpää posted a response to what happened on her social media accounts. According to the club, the matter has been investigated internally and there are no grounds for further action.
– The game has been hot, as it should be in the playoffs, but the representatives of our club have not used the language of the accusations in this match either. We hope that even though we are emotionally involved in the game, that afterwards we would all remain matter-of-fact and not unnecessarily pick on individual people.
Puijon Pesis makes an investigation request to the union
Puijon Pesis plans to make a request for an investigation to the Päsäpalloliito regarding two situations in Wednesday night’s semi-final match.
According to PuPe, KaMa’s second game manager Turo Lauttamus was guilty of foul language during the game.
PuPe says that Lauttamus barked two children of one player from Kuopio as disabled.
The second investigation request is related to the actions of a KaMa player in a shift change situation. According to PuPe, Kankaanpää’s three-pointer deliberately threw the ball towards the home team’s bench. The ball did not hit any player.
The Baseball Association will have to deal with the investigation request quickly, because the next semi-final match will already be played on Friday in Kankaanpää.
