With a budget of $24 million, it grossed $140 million worldwide. The first votes for part 6 also spread euphoric reactions before the theatrical release. The omens for a further sequel within a very short time are therefore favourable. Also, the directing duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who directed Scream 5 and 6, expressed their enduring love for the horror franchise:

We hope [auf ein Sequel]. We want to watch scream movies for the rest of our liveswhether we are involved or not. […] We’re so glad the franchise is back.
