Scrat, the Ice Age squirrel, finally devours his acorn

Scrat the Ice Age squirrel finally devours his acorn

He had been trying to catch it since 2002, but in vain… Each time an obstacle stood in his way. In a 35-second farewell video, the squirrel Scrat finally managed to bite into his acorn without anyone stopping him.

scratch is the very example of perseverance! It has been 20 years since the little ice age squirrel runs after an acorn that he is always on the verge of catching… But each time, an obstacle comes to block his way. This time, nothing and no one comes to disturb him in his mad quest which often puts his life in danger. In a 35-second video, posted on YouTube on April 13, Scrat FINALLY manages to bite into this acorn so desired.

The end of Scrat, and Blue Sky studios

A happy ending which especially marks the end of Blue Sky studiosat the origin of this animated film so appreciated by young and old, and who also created the cartoons Rio, Epic, Robots, or the famous bull Ferdinand. The studios had been acquired by Disney in 2017, who then announced that Blue Sky would close in 2021.”Given the current economic situation, after much consideration and thought, we have made the difficult decision to close Blue Sky Studios”. So this unreleased video titled “The End” is therefore a kind of farewell for the team of animators. “A few days before the end of Blue Sky Studios, a small team of animators came together to make this final plan. This plan is a farewell. A farewell on our own terms“.

The Disney + platform also unveiled a 6th installment of Ice Age last March, but the essential squirrel does not appear in “The Adventures of Buck Wild”. We can nevertheless find him in a series of his own: “the adventures of Scrat” still on Disney plus since April 13. Scrat has become a dad, and now takes care of his baby Scrat!
