Speaking with the Beacon Herald, the spokesperson said the decision to sell the 7,230-square-meter (77,720-square-foot) building, which is listed for $15.6 million on the Avision Young Canada real estate website, was made as a result of staff primarily working from home and the building not getting as much use.

The spokesperson said the decision to sell the building is unrelated to Scotiabank’s announcement earlier this week it’s cutting about three per cent of its global workforce as a result of changes at the bank and customer’s day-to-day banking preferences, and ongoing efforts to streamline operations.
While the spokesperson said current staff will continue working either from home or from 10 Wright Blvd. until the building is sold, she said they will be moved to a new location for the retail service center once one is found.

The spokesperson would not comment on whether any Scotiabank employees in Stratford were affected by the company’s global layoffs and would not say how many staff currently work at the retail service centre.
The office building at 10 Wright Blvd. is described on the Avision Young real estate website as an ideal headquarters or head office featuring a mix of office space with clean and bright industrial areas, and that the second-floor office can be removed to create more conventional industrial space. Listed highlights of the building include its location at the gateway to the Wright Business Park, excess land for building or parking expansion, or outdoor storage, and flexible industrial zoning.
Photos of the office building’s interior show numerous offices, board rooms and other work spaces.
