The Callisto Protocol is the first game from Striking Distance Studios, created by Dead Space creator Glen Schofield. The proximity to the scifi horror classic cannot be denied either. Similar to Isaac Clarke, protagonist Jacob Lee also has to deal with grotesquely mutated monsters and has to fight for survival alone, far away from civilization.
The game takes full advantage of the technical possibilities of the new consoles and looks really stunning. Especially the lighting mood and some shocking moments can definitely hold a candle to the big role model. Gameplay that relies heavily on brutal hand-to-hand combat isn’t quite a masterpiece, but you can still have loads of fun (and scares!). (To the GamePro test)
The game is currently discounted on Amazon. Here you can find the respective version:
Since these are games with an “over 18” rating, there is an additional 5 euros for shipping. For the PS5 version, that’s the all-time low. The game has never been so cheap before and no other dealer can keep up with the offer. (Source: geizhals.de)
