Lena Headey became known for her portrayal of the scheming Cersei Lannister in the fantasy series Game of Thrones. Since the series ended in 2019, Headey has appeared primarily in action and sci-fi productions. Their new project is called Beacon 23, which has now received a launch, TVLine reports.
The book comes from Hugh Howey, whose silo saga was recently adapted as a series by Apple TV+. The dystopia with Rebecca Ferguson is one of the best sci-fi series of the year. Can Beacon 23 build on this?

Zak Penn served as showrunner for the 8 episodes of the sci-fi thriller. Headey plays the role of Aster in Beacon 23. The government agent is trapped in a so-called “beacon” along with ex-soldier Halan (Stephan James from Homecoming). It serves as a kind of lighthouse for intergalactic travelers. How Aster found his way to the lighthouse is unclear. Halan begins to wonder whether Aster is friend or foe.
Beacon 23 tells a seafaring story, except that Lena Headey and Stephan James are stranded somewhere in the far reaches of the universe.

When does Beacon 23 start?
Beacon 23 is scheduled to premiere on November 12, 2023 in the USA on MGM+. It is not yet known which streaming service will take over the German broadcast.
