Sci-Fi film about repressed superheroes continues – “With the Netflix budget it will be a masterpiece”

With Code 8 Part II, a popular sci-fi and superhero film is getting a sequel on Netflix four years after the first part. Fans are happy in the comments that the filmmakers now have a larger budget for the sequel.

What kind of movie is Code 8? The project started in 2016 as a short film on YouTube. Shortly afterwards, a crowdfunding campaign was launched with the aim of expanding the short film into a proper feature film.

With the help of fans, the film project was financed and the sci-fi flick starring Stephen and Robbie Amell became a huge hit in 2019 (via Filmstarts).

The film established a world in which a small number of people in the population have special powers. However, they experience exclusion and are seen as freaks.

The sequel to Code 8 was recently announced – this time at the expense of Netflix.
