Sci Fi Director Blames Avengers Creator Joss Whedon After Alien Dispute

Last year, several people accused Justice League and Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon of abusive behavior on sets. Since the allegations, things have gone quiet around the showrunner and filmmaker who probably no longer a great career in Hollywood will have.

A former colleague of his didn’t leave him a good hair again. Alien – The Rebirth director Jean-Pierre Jeunet brought to the All-out attack on Whedon and Marvel movies in general out.

Alien 4 Director Calls Marvel Movies Movies For Idiots

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the fourth Alien film, Jeunet also commented on criticism from Whedon, who called the sequel 2005 as almost unwatchable film designated. In an interview with The Independent, Jeunet says of Joss Whedon and Marvel films:

I know Joss Whedon said some bad things about me. I do not care. I know if Joss Whedon had directed the film himself it probably would have been a huge success. He’s very good at making films for American geeks – something for idiots. Because he’s very good at making Marvel movies. I hate this type of movie. It’s so silly, so stupid.

With a budget of 70 million dollars, Jeunet’s fourth Alien film grossed around 161 million dollars worldwide and is considered a flop. In addition, there were many bad reviews for the blockbuster, the differed greatly in content from the alien roots and brought back Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) as a clone after her death in the Alien 3 finale.

After Alien – The Rebirths are yet to come two crossover films with Predator appeared. It was Ridley Scott himself who brought the franchise back after its 1979 milestone with the 2012 prequel Prometheus. After the sequel, Alien: Covenant, we won’t see a new installment in this sci-fi series.
