At the Food Bank Leerdam they are very happy with that stuff, says coordinator Martine Visser. “A thousand extra products come in every month. As a result, we are no longer short of anything,” she says. And that is more important than ever, she says, because food banks throughout the Netherlands are experiencing shortages. “There are more and more people who cannot make ends meet, due to the high inflation. We see that the number of items donated is declining, while the number of people using the food bank is growing.”
