(Finance) – Il Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara today announced publicly that the agreements of the Welfare plan envisaged by the Government will also be renewed for the whole of 2025: work is being done, he told Italia Oggi, to include healthcare within the benefits plan for school staff. The Welfare planValditara recalled, is one of the tools put in place to “restore, also from an economic point of view, authority to teachers and all school staff”.
“The agreements to facilitate the professional and personal lives of school workers are welcome – he comments Marcello Pacifico, national president of Anief – , also because it is not clear why workers in the largest sector of the state administration should remain excluded from the benefits and incentives that other public and private employees have. At the same time, however, we remind, especially politicians and the Ministry of Economy and Finance, that the economic adjustment of school staff also involves a full contractual holiday allowance, rather than more than halved as happens today, forcing us to appeal”.
“We also need an adequate allocation of public resources useful for balancing the cost of living and producing real salary increases that will bring, even gradually but already with the next national collective labor agreement, the salaries of school employees at least on par with the average of the Italian public administration which currently ranks more than 4 thousand euros above teachers and almost 10 thousand above ATA staff”, concludes the national president Anief.
