A girl has been shot dead at a school in Nashville, local media reports.
Another girl was shot.
The shooter, who was also a student at the school, then shot himself dead.
Two students have been shot at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee, local police say on X.
According to local media, it is supposed to be two girls, one of whom has died from her injuries. The condition of the other girl’s injuries is unclear. Another boy was taken to the hospital for some type of facial injury, but he was not shot.
The shooting must have taken place in the school cafeteria, reports CNN.
Shooter: 17-year-old boy
The perpetrator, who was also a student at the school, is said to have then shot himself. According to local media, the perpetrator is a 17-year-old boy, who also died from his injuries.
“The person responsible for the shooting is no longer a threat,” the school district said in a statement.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear.
The police were called to the school at 11:11 local time. Parents were then asked not to come to the school, but instead to go to a nearby hospital where the students were bussed.
Over 2,000 students attend the upper secondary school.
