An elementary school was placed in hold and secure as police responded to a weapons-related incident in Tillsonburg on Friday afternoon.

A suspect was later arrested, said police, adding there is no threat to public safety.

Oxford OPP responded to Morning Glory Drive after receiving a call at about 1:30 pm
As a precaution, South Ridge Public School was placed in hold and secure, which was later lifted.
The investigation is continuing and police are seeking witnesses and video surveillance in the neighborhood.
