School protocol signed between Mim and partisan associations to promote

(Finance) – Il Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara, signed a today Memorandum of Understanding, of three-year duration, with the National Association of Regular Armed Forces Fighters of the War of Liberation (ANCFARGL), National Association of Christian Partisans (ANPC), National Association of Partisans of Italy (ANPI), Italian Confederation of Combatant and Partisan Associations, Italian Federation of Partisan Associations (FIAP) and the Italian Federation of Freedom Volunteers (FIVL) for the promotion of training courses on the origins of the Republic through the events that led to the liberation of our country.

“For the first time – underlines Valditara – to honor the Resistance we decided as a Ministry not to involve just one of the partisan associations, the Anpi, but all the associationsincluding the fighting ones, which gave life to the Resistance”. “Resistance which”, continues Valditara, “involves the entire Italian population in the values of freedom, respect for the human person and democracy expressed in the Constitution that resulted”.

The Minister also recalls that “the partisan associations split for political reasons in the aftermath of the Constituent Assembly. Therefore, recognizing only one of them as representing the partisan struggle would be historically unfair and counterproductive with respect to the need for a plural sharing of the values of the Resistance by all Italians”.

In particular, the agreement provides for the implementation of activities in first and second cycle schools to disseminate the values expressed in the Constitution so as to contribute to the education of students on the ideals of democracy and freedom. To achieve the objectives indicated in the Protocol, a joint committee will be established composed of three representatives of the Ministry of Education and Merit and three representatives of the other signatory parties.
