School employee drove students drunk – prosecuted

School employee drove students drunk prosecuted

A school employee in Jönköping County is suspected of driving drunk from school. He is now charged with aggravated drunk driving, reports Swedish Radio P4 Jönköping.

It was last winter that the police were alerted to a car driving shakily and up on the sidewalk. The man himself told the police that he “had a few beers”. Students and former students who rode in the car must have testified to the police that it smelled of alcohol and that the man was driving strangely.

In response to the question of why he drove students drunk in his spare time, the man has stated in interrogation that they jumped into the car voluntarily, according to the radio.

The man admits drunk driving but denies the serious crime. The municipality has warned the employee about boundless behavior.
