According to the proposal, half of the extended school time should be in the form of Swedish and maths. But in order for the students to cope with longer days, and not get too tired from the theoretically heavier subjects, the other half of the extended time must consist of practical subjects, such as visual arts, sports and handicrafts.
– I think it would be wise, because then both the teachers and the students would have time to catch up, says Cecilia Edberg, art teacher at Näsbyparksskolan in Täby.
