School buses canceled across Lambton County

School buses canceled across Lambton County

High schools with the Lambton Kent District school board closed to in-person learning Thursday after school buses were canceled because of road conditions.

All high school students in the public school system in Lambton County were switched to remote, teacher-led virtual learning for the day, the board said in a news release.

The weather and road conditions canceled school buses in zones one to four across Lambton.

A freezing rain warning for western Lambton was issued Thursday morning.

Public high schools impacted by the switch to virtual learning include Alexander Mackenzie, Great Lakes, Lambton Central Collegiate and Vocational Institute, North Lambton and Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School.

While buses were cancelled, all elementary schools were open to students, public board officials said.

Schools with the St. Clair Catholic District school board were also impacted by the bus cancellation but all of its school remained open today, the board said in a news release.
