Hein Otterspeer has become Dutch sprint champion for the fourth time. Scheperkamp was second in the standings after 1.07.96 in the 1000 meters. Kai Verbij finished third in the standings with 1:08.08. He kept Olympic champions Nuis and Krol off the podium. The best three skaters of the NK sprint have a chance to be selected for the European Championship.
