Scarlett Johansson never wants to return to the MCU — and this is why

Scarlett Johansson never wants to return to the MCU —
Scarlett Johansson is one of the most popular MCU stars. Her character Natasha Romanoff sacrificed herself in Avengers 4: Endgame, but later got it with Black Widow

her first solo film and would delight many Marvel fans with a return. But Johansson has now clearly rejected the request.

Scarlett Johansson has good reasons not to return to the MCU

Speaking to Marvel co-star Gwyneth Paltrow on the Goop Podcast, Johansson explained:

I’m done. The chapter is over. I did everything I had to do. Playing a character over and over again over a decade is a unique experience.

Johansson has played Romanoff/Black Widow since her first appearance in 2010’s Iron Man 2. She often spoke very favorably of her role on Marvel, but their experiences were not entirely positive.

She was also a victim of sexism at Marvel. And at the launch of Black Widow, she even took Disney to court. So it’s perhaps not surprising that after 11 years in MCU, Johansson wants to move on to other things.
