Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Chris Hemsworth Jr. and Mark Ruffalo formed the hard core of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for almost 10 years. In 2019, Avengers 4: Endgame broke this circle. The stars are still close friends, though. This was shown above all by Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans a few weeks ago when Jeremy Renner was critically injured after an accident.
Scarlett Johansson on Jeremy Renner: ‘So damn happy to see him’
The Black Widow actress gave a lengthy interview to industry publication Variety, in which she discussed Jeremy Renner’s accident, among other things. The Hawkeye star was run over by a snowplow earlier this year, resulting in 30 broken bones and internal injuries.
Along with ex-Captain America Chris Evans, Johansson flew to Los Angeles to visit Renner. “I was so damn happy to see him”she says in an interview about the meeting. “I didn’t know if I would ever see him again.”
The Avengers group chat was on hand to support Jeremy Renner
Johansson also described what happened in the Avengers’ own group chat, which continues even after the end of the Marvel time together. Scarlett Johansson herself, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Chris Hemsworth Jr. and Mark Ruffalo are part of this group. After Renner’s accident and the positive course of healing, messages were posted there like: “‘OK, you beat us all.” And: “This is real superhero stuff. It’s amazing.”
