Scarlett Johansson will not put on the superhero costume again.
– I’m finished. The chapter is finished. I really felt like I’ve done everything I needed to do, says the American actor in fellow actor Gwyneth Paltrow’s podcast.
The 38-year-old debuted as the Russian superhero spy in 2010’s “Iron-Man 2,” where Paltrow played the role of Pepper Potts. Johansson reprized the role of Black Widow in several films, ending in 2021 with the film “Black Widow”.
Returning to the sets roughly every two years was “like summer camp for adults,” says Johansson, even though the occasional script “looked terrible on paper.”
“To return and play the same character over and over again for a decade is such a unique experience,” says Johansson.
Paltrow, who has had a minor role in Marvel’s superhero movies, also doesn’t think she’ll return – but isn’t ruling it out either.
“I didn’t die like that, so I guess they can ask me,” she says in the podcast.
