Following Azerbaijan’s successful anti-terrorism operation in Karabakh, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna paid an official visit to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. Colonna met with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and held a joint press conference.
Colonna stated that they discussed security and defense issues at the meeting and said, “France agreed on the signing of future contracts that will allow the delivery of military equipment to Armenia so that it can ensure its defense.”
Colonna, who did not give details about the contracts in question, said, “I cannot give too many details. If I had to go a little further, know that there are things that have already been agreed upon between Armenia and France and are progressing.”

Colonna also shared a photo of Mount Ararat on his social media account during his visit and said, “I returned to Armenia, 5 months after my first visit. “Friendship, support and solidarity,” he said. Colonna, who portrayed Mount Ararat as if it were Armenian territory, received intense reactions on social media.
