In the statement made by NHTSA, it was stated that Tesla’s Model Y SUV vehicles were investigated after two complaints that the steering wheel came off while driving.
In the statement, which was noted that the investigation covered approximately 120 thousand 2023 model vehicles, it was shared that in both complaints, the vehicles were delivered to customers without the bolt connecting the steering wheel and the arm.

NHTSA’s website, where documents related to the complaints are shared, shows that the two vehicles are at low mileage and have been purchased recently.
NHTSA also announced that it is investigating complaints about sudden braking of Tesla vehicles.
