SCA becomes self-sufficient in electricity after new wind power investment

SCA has signed a cooperation agreement with the wind power company Arise, which, among other things, is behind the attention-grabbing facilities in Ranasjö and Salsjö in Sollefteå municipality.

Six parks are planned

The companies will now jointly develop wind power construction in six different areas during the next 5- to 10-year period.

The wind power construction in Ranasjö/Salsjöhöjden was met by strong local protests and actions, but the wind farms with a total of 39 plants are expected to be completed at the beginning of next year.

Becomes self-sufficient in electricity

Arise also sells a wind power project in Bräcke, Fasikan, to SCA, which invests 1.7 billion in the area. Construction of the 15 works will start in November and should be in production at the beginning of 2026.

With that purchase, SCA states that it will now become completely self-sufficient in electricity.
