Saved two abducted dogs – a Norwegian man arrested by police

The 59-year-old owner had traveled away from his home in the Swiss city of Zurich. When the man came home from the trip, he was met by a shock – his beloved dogs were gone. The dogs are of the rare Russian breed Bolonka and had been stolen from the man’s home.

In a letter, the man could read that the kidnapper demanded money to release the dogs. The ransom was one million Swiss francs, which corresponds to SEK 11.5 million.

Found in Poland

Now Swiss police have saved the two robbed dogs and arrested a man suspected of the theft. It was on Thursday last week that a 30-year-old Norwegian was arrested at the airport in Zurich and is reasonably suspected of involvement in the kidnapping.

The dogs could finally be found at a 38-year-old man in Poland who is now arrested. It was through a European police cooperation that led the investigation to the country where the kidnapped animals were found by Polish police.

Last Friday, the man got back his pets where they were reunited. The dogs of the rare breed Bolonka (Ruskaja Tsvetnaja Bolonka) can be sold for tens of thousands of kronor and developed in Russia in the 1950s. It is a combination between Bichon Frisé, Shih Tzu and Lhasa Apso.
