Sarnias live nativity returns but is cut short by weather

The live nativity, a Sarnia tradition for four decades, returned Thursday evening to the front lawn of Redeemer Lutheran Church on Indian Road after pausing two years because of the pandemic.

But, church officials said Friday evening’s live nativity wasn’t going ahead because of the winter storm that arrived in the area closing schools and libraries,

Sheila Ginn, president of the church’s board of directors, said they were sorry to have to cancel Friday’s event but they were concerned for the safety of participants and the public.

Ginn said the church wanted to wish all “a safe and blessed Christmas.”
