Sarnias Imperial Theater announces new season of Classic Albums Live

A popular Classic Albums Live series will return to Sarnia’s Imperial Theater for a ninth season beginning in November.

A popular Classic Albums Live series will return to Sarnia’s Imperial Theater for a ninth season beginning in November.

The touring live music series performs well-known classic rock albums.

“They are well-loved by our patrons,” said Brian Austin Jr., executive director of the theater in downtown Sarnia.

“I think what really sells these shows is the quality of the musicians,” he said.

“It really does sound like you’re listening to the record, but you get to watch how the music was created live before your eyes. It’s pretty incredible.”

The upcoming series is scheduled to continue through to May.

It includes Supertramp’s Breakfast in America on Nov. 11; Billy Joel,’s The Stranger on Feb, 17; U2’s The Joshua Tree on March 24; Led Zeppelin II on April 21; and The Eagles’ Greatest Hits on May 26.

Tickets are $52 and available at the theater box office and online at www.imperialtheatre.net.

They’re expected to sell out quickly, Austin Jr. warned.

The theater also announced Shaun Majumder, an actor and comedian who was in the cast of This Hour Has 22 Minutes for 17 seasons, will return for a show Nov. 29, 8 pm

His 2017 and 2020 shows in Sarnia played to full houses.

“Shaun is a great mix of Canadian humour, relevant commentary and East Coast loveable-ness,” said Austin Jr.

Tickets are $55 and go on sale Friday at the theater box office and online.

Saturday, the third annual Anthony’s HOPE (Helping Other People Eat) food drive will be held at the Imperial Theater from 10 am to 3 pm

The summer event where the public is invited to drop off donations for Sarnia’s Inn of the Shepherd is held in memory of Anthony Fracalanza, a former member of Theater Sarnia and Inn employee who died in May 2020 at the age of 31.
