A Sarnia woman has been charged with fraud after a Sarnia gym reported “suspicious” transactions to city police.
Sarnia police said it was contacted by the owner of Sharky’s Athletic Club in March alleging there had been transactions that were “suspicious in nature” and that business accounts were low in funds.
The city police service’s criminal investigations branch began an investigation and it’s alleged new membership fees were being entertained by an employee of the business, police said in a news release.
Jessica Lee Simourd, 30, of Sarnia was charged with one count of fraud with a value more than $5,000 and is scheduled to appear Nov. 17 in Sarnia court.
