“The shelter in place has been called by Sarnia police as a precaution, due to a fire up the street at the construction site of the new Gregory A. Hogan Catholic school,” the board said.

“The fire was confined to a spray foam truck and did not appear to have affected the building. There are no injuries.”

The board said air in-take systems at both schools were also closed.

A shelter-in-place is initiated when there is an emergency unrelated to a school but near a school building, the board said.

“Students are kept inside, and the school continues on with its normal routines.”
