Sarnia police said the vice unit and emergency response team raided an apartment at 289 Indian Rd. S Tuesday with a search warrant and found about 33.5 grams of fentanyl, approximately 552 grams of cocaine, about 947 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and 25 codeine pills. The street value of the drugs was about $166,053 while officers also found $550 in cash, a hydraulic cocaine press and a butterfly knife, which is a banned weapon, police said.

Sarnia residents Donald Brown, 76, and Ethan Locking, 22, are each charged with three counts of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking, one count of drug possession, and possessing a banned weapon. Brown was released by Sarnia police but Locking was held for a bail hearing, they said.

“The charges are very serious,” federal prosecutor Brian Higgins said Wednesday in a Sarnia courtroom during Locking’s first appearance.
The case was adjourned to Friday, where Locking was granted $6,000 lease. He’ll be banned from contacting Brown while living with a curfew at a home in Sombra. He’ll only be allowed to return to the Indian Road apartment once to collect his belongings under the supervision of a Sarnia police officer.
Both men’s charges return to court in April. The charges haven’t been tested in court.
Sarnia Police Chief Derek Davis took to social media to praise his vice unit on the drug seizure.
“Excellent work by our @SarniaPolice VICE unit! 2024 continues to be exceptionally demanding for our investigators. These cases require countless hours of effort and teamwork. Well done VICE,” he wrote.
