“The Biggest Thing right now is to encourage All Organizations that could benefit from our program to resubmit an application, even if they have in previous years and maybe have been denied,” Alix Said.

The Foundation Named for Alix’s Aunt and Uncle That’s Helped Over Decades Fund The New Home For Downtown Sarnia’s Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery, Withdrawal Management at Bluewater Health, Artificial Turf Installation at Norm Perry Park and Other Community Projects, Recently Opened This Year’s For Capital Project Idea Submissions.

“I’d like to see as many new applications or re-submissive as possible,” Said Adam Alix, noting typically 20 to 30 come in per year for considering.

Criteria for Capital Project Submissions include projects have to be via local charities or municipalities, and must benfit the community at large, according to jnaf.ca.

In 2024, The Organization Gave out about $ 520,000Including for local conservation area improvises, local ymca upgrades, forest food bank renovations, and a new junior fair building at the brigden fairgrounds.

On top of that, The Foundation Invest in A $ 900,000, Three-Year Plan with St. Clair Child and Youth Services for Intensive Outreach Programms, Alix Said.

That investment “Sort of Falls outside the typical capital grant programs we’ve been running,” he said, noting alix family members have focused more on youth-oriented initiatives.

“There’s a focus on youth development and youth programs (and) We’ve Been Finding Opportunities. . . To support Those Initiatives, ”He Said.

Hopes Are the $ 900,000 Donation encourage More Giving from the Community for Youth Programs, He Said.

The Deadline for Alix Foundation Grant Applications is 4 pm May 1, and successful projects will be annouded later that month.

“We are excited to see what we can do this year in the community,” Alix Said.

“There’s a lot of good ideas Brewing that we are seen already, but we want to support as many of those projects that make sarnia-lambton a better place to live.”
