Dennis was acting as a Lambton Councillor at the time, but is a sarnia representative on that council and is bound by the city’s code, Nahmabin Says.
“Members of aamjiwnaang, like all members of the public, have a right to engage with municipal governments without fear of being smeared, discriminated against, or harassed by electted formals,” nahmabin said.
Dennis’s comments are at odds with a LAND ACKNOWLEDGENT Adopted by County Council, and with Sarnia’s Work to Advance the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples via a Local Working GroupNahmabin Said.
Dennis’ Comments also ignores the History of Environmental Harm Aamjiwnaang has endured, as recognized by the Environmental Commissioner of Ontario, non-colored those around Organizations, and the United nations special rapporteur on toxinsshe Said.

County Council Nov. 27 was considering nahmabin’s request to provide money to the first nation that wsent to the country after Imperial Oil was fined for discharge “slop oil” in 2021. Aamjiwnaang Members were among those affected by the spill.
County Council Voted at the time to Receive and file The Request.

Dennis meanwhile, reacted on facebook thursday to nahmabin’s letter, arguing he was advocating for local Jobs with his comments nov. 27, and asserting his priorities are voters and their jobs.
“I am staunchly Opposed to anything that Hampers Production, Productivity, Growth, Infrastructure and Your Ability to Make A Livelihood in the City of Sarnia,” He Said, Adding He Finds Nahmabin’s “Note to Be a Threat Against Me for Doing My Job. »
Dennis Has Faced Multiple Integrity Commissioner Investigations Over Six Years on City Council and is Currently Involved in Two Lawsuitsincluded one in which he’s suing the city of Sarnia and Chief Administrator Chris Carter.
